Data Centre Shift Lead Engineer
Lead and oversee the daily operations of the shift team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Monitor the performance of critical electrical and mechanical systems to maintain maximum uptime and reliability.
Respond promptly to equipment alarms, incidents, and system faults, ensuring timely troubleshooting and resolution.
Plan and coordinate routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities.
Supervise contractors and vendors during maintenance and service works to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Prepare and maintain shift reports, maintenance records, and incident documentation.
Support emergency response activities and lead the team during operational incidents when required.
Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to Shift Engineers and Technicians to ensure high team performance.
Conduct effective shift handovers by communicating operational status, outstanding issues, and maintenance updates.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Data Centre, Critical Facility, Building Services, or Industrial Operations.
Previous experience leading or supervising an operations or maintenance team is preferred.
Good understanding of critical facility infrastructure, including UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC systems, switchgear, fire protection, and electrical distribution systems.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a mission-critical environment.
Good communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Willing to work on a rotating shift schedule.
