Data Engineer

About The Role

Join Accenture's Health & Public Service practice as a Data Engineer and play a critical role in building the data foundations that power analytics, artificial intelligence, and business decision-making. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and delivering scalable, reliable, and production-grade data solutions that enable business outcomes and support digital transformation initiatives.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to build robust data platforms, optimize data flows, and ensure the quality, security, and usability of enterprise data assets.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data stores, and data integration frameworks supporting analytics, reporting, and operational use cases

Develop, optimize, and automate ETL/ELT processes across structured and unstructured data sources

Create and maintain efficient data models and schemas that support performance, scalability, and reusability

Implement data quality, lineage, monitoring, reliability, and security controls throughout the data lifecycle

Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to translate requirements into robust and trusted datasets

Monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows, investigate failures, and drive performance improvements

Contribute to deployment automation, testing frameworks, coding standards, and technical documentation

Support continuous improvement of data platform capabilities, engineering practices, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

Minimum 2 years of experience in Data Engineering or a closely related role

Strong proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience designing and optimizing data models and schemas

Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines from ingestion through transformation and delivery

Strong programming skills in Python for data processing and workflow automation

Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Understanding of data engineering best practices, including performance optimization, testing, and production support

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Apache Spark or other distributed data processing frameworks

Familiarity with modern data warehousing and data lake architectures

Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security principles

Experience implementing CI/CD practices for data engineering workflows

Exposure to workflow orchestration and monitoring tools

Experience supporting analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven data platforms
