Summary
AgileSource is hiring Data Engineers in the UK (permanent or contract, hybrid/remote depending on project) to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for high-profile client engagements, using Python and SQL on cloud data platforms. Active SC security clearance is required.
Salary: £56,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements
- Strong hands-on Data Engineering experience.
- Advanced Python and SQL skills.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms.
- Knowledge of data modelling, transformation and data quality principles.
- Ability to work effectively within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Active SC Clearance required.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines.
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes.
- Develop data integration solutions using Python and SQL.
- Ensure data quality, integrity and reliability across platforms.
- Support data modelling and transformation activities.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts and stakeholders to deliver client outcomes.
- Take ownership of defined work packages and deliver them independently.

This is a permanent or contract opportunity based in the UK, with hybrid or remote working depending on project requirements. The salary is £45,000 - £65,000, or a day rate of £350 inside IR35 depending on experience. This role is suited to hands-on engineers who enjoy solving complex data challenges and delivering high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
