Data Engineer – AI / Agentic AI Exposure
Summary
Cape Town-based Data Engineer role at PBT Group focused on data migration and modernisation projects. Day to day it is traditional data engineering work (Python, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud data platforms, Docker, CI/CD), with added exposure to AI/LLM and agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen or CrewAI.
We’re looking for a strong Data Engineer with traditional Data Engineering experience, who also has some exposure to AI / LLMs / Agentic AI and is interested in working on data migration and modernisation projects.
What we’re looking for:
• 3+ years’ Data Engineering experience
• Strong Python & SQL
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT and cloud data platforms
• Some exposure to AI / LLMs / Agentic AI or frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen or CrewAI
• Experience with REST APIs, Docker, CI/CD and modern software engineering practices
• Experience with GCP preferred, but strong Azure experience will also be considered
