Data Engineer and modelers

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer & Data Platform Lead to drive the design, development and evolution of a modern enterprise data platform built on Databricks and Microsoft Fabric. This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior technical professional who enjoys combining hands‑on engineering with platform leadership, architecture and stakeholder engagement.

Data Platform Leadership

• Define and drive enterprise data platform architecture and technology standards
• Lead adoption of best practices across engineering, governance and operational excellence
• Partner with business stakeholders to deliver scalable and strategic data solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams

Data Engineering & Integration

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines supporting batch, CDC, incremental and streaming workloads
• Integrate data from POS, ERP, cloud platforms, APIs and enterprise applications
• Build robust ingestion, transformation and data distribution frameworks
• Drive platform performance, scalability and reliability

Data Modelling & Analytics

• Design dimensional data models including star and snowflake schemas
• Develop reusable data products supporting reporting, analytics and self‑service BI
• Ensure alignment between business processes and enterprise analytics requirements

Governance & Performance

• Implement data quality, lineage, monitoring and testing frameworks
• Optimize Spark workloads, SQL performance and platform efficiency
• Support DevOps, CI/CD and release management practices
• Drive metadata management and governance standards

Requirements

• 7+ years' experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform development
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data platform solutions
• Strong expertise in Databricks
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Strong SQL and Spark development experience
