Data Engineer

Nearly every Dutch citizen has an insurance policy running on ANVA. As the market leader in insurance software, our platform supports more than 21 million policies, 60% of the market's premium volume, and over 10,000 daily users. With eight development teams, we are building a brand-new SaaS platform and migrating a large customer base, meaning every release has a direct impact.

This innovative platform will make a significant difference in the world of insurance and financial services, and we are looking for a Data Engineer to strengthen our team.

Your Impact

AI is at the core of this role and of the way we work at ANVA. As an AI-first organization, we aim to lead the market in the adoption and application of AI. You are expected to use AI as an integral part of your daily workflow and be able to demonstrate this during the recruitment process.

As a Data Engineer, you will work on the ANVA Data Platform, the beating heart of our data-driven organization. This platform supports both our existing solutions (ANVA 4/5) and our new Snowflake-native platform, ANVA 6. Together with a multidisciplinary team, you will build robust data pipelines and drive strategic innovations within Snowflake.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, Snowpark Python (for ANVA 6), and Matillion (for ANVA 4/5)
• Maintain and enhance data processes across the platform
• Help build the data foundation of ANVA 6, enabling customer data to be leveraged for reporting, dashboards, and other applications
• Contribute to Business Insights through reports and Qlik dashboards for both ANVA 4/5 and ANVA 6
• Experiment with new technologies and contribute ideas for the future of our platform
• Translate technical challenges into clear, practical solutions
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and DevOps specialists
• Take ownership of DevOps-related tasks such as monitoring, automation, and performance optimization

Who Are You?

You are a Data Engineer with:

• A completed Bachelor's degree (HBO) or equivalent level of education and thinking
• Extensive and relevant experience in Data Engineering or BI Engineering
