Data Engineer (Azure)
Summary
Designs and builds Azure-based data pipelines and analytics platforms for enterprise clients using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, and Data Lake Storage.
Location: Hybrid - London
Salary: Up to £60,000
We're working with a growing technology consultancy looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design and deliver modern Azure-based data solutions for a range of enterprise clients.
This is a customer-facing role where you'll work closely with clients to build scalable, secure data platforms while collaborating with a talented engineering team. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and progress into technical architecture or leadership roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Build data models and analytics solutions using Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes.
- Work directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver robust data solutions.
- Troubleshoot data issues and ensure solutions are secure, scalable and high performing.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices.
About You
You'll have:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Data Engineering.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics and Data Lake Storage.
- Development experience in Python, Scala or SQL.
- Knowledge of data modelling and analytics solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a client-facing environment.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
