Our client is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their data team within the banking industry. In this role, you will help build and maintain data-driven solutions by onboarding new data sources, developing reporting capabilities, and enhancing the SQL data warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and support data integration into the data warehouse (from staging to data mart), including onboarding new data sources and managing existing pipelines.
- Develop and optimize complex T‑SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to ensure high-performance data delivery.
- Utilize Python and Airflow to automate, schedule, and optimize data workflows and reporting capabilities.
- Maintain and integrate legacy environments (MS Access, text files, Excel reports) while ensuring overall data quality and reliability.
- Work closely with financial tech teams, business stakeholders, and cross‑functional peers to deliver scalable data solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Modeling, Advanced SQL, and Database Management & Administration
- 5+ years of strong T‑SQL development and query optimization experience
- Experience in the banking/finance domain with deep knowledge of financial products and structures
- Hands‑on experience with Python, Apache Airflow, SQL Server, and Git.
- Strong analytical problem‑solving skills with a focus on efficiency, and effective communication skills to collaborate with non‑technical stakeholders.
