Data Engineer
Summary
Builds and maintains ETL pipelines and scalable data platforms (warehouses, lakehouses, data lakes) for China Bank PH, ensuring data quality and automating processing with SQL, Python/Shell, and cloud data tools (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric) to power analytics and reporting across the bank.

What You Will Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data.
- Build and support scalable data platforms, including data warehouses, lakehouses, and data lakes.
- Implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Automate data processing and integration tasks using Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data infrastructure and pipelines.
- Maintain clear documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows.
- Keep up with emerging tools and technologies in data engineering.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell, or other scripting languages.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as Microsoft data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric, is an advantage.
- Banking industry experience is a plus.
