Data Engineer Consultant -

In this role you will help shape Sia’s Data Science capability by delivering data engineering solutions for clients and internal AI initiatives. You will work closely with the French Data Engineering team in a flat, entrepreneurial environment that values well-being and knowledge sharing. Expect to tackle cloud, data pipelines, and ML infrastructure challenges that enable data-driven decisions. This is a hands-on opportunity to build scalable data platforms while growing your expertise in data and AI topics.

• Architect and implement data pipelines and ETL processes in Big Data environments
• Develop server-side tools and REST APIs in Python
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and deploy data-driven applications at client sites
• Build and maintain ML-ready infrastructures and services (including IaC)
• Collaborate in DevOps culture, owning code lifecycle from development to deployment
• Leverage cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) to support DS workloads
• Contribute to Sia AI solutions and internal platform development
• Monitor cost, security, and performance of data architectures

• Master’s Degree with a strong quantitative component
• 1–3 years of experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering
• Strong Python skills and solid foundations in additional languages
• Experience with at least one SQL DBMS (preferably PostgreSQL) and ideally NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) or willingness to rapidly learn
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD; interest in Kubernetes
• Ability to manage code lifecycle and familiarity with Gitlab-CE; knowledge of IaC (Terraform)
• Security-focused with experience in certificate management, HTTPS, OAuth2, credential management
• Strong interest in data and AI topics and ability to learn quickly
• Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills
• Proficient in English and Dutch (spoken and written)
