We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our client on a migration project for an initial 6-month contract.
This role is specifically for someone with strong, recent Databricks experience who can come in and contribute quickly.

This is a hands-on contract where you’ll be expected to bring solid Data Engineering experience, work confidently with stakeholders and hit the ground running.

What you’ll be doing
- Building and delivering modern data solutions using Databricks and Azure
- Working with modern data architectures, including Medallion Architecture
- Developing data pipelines and engineering solutions using SQL and Python
- Working across different project and stakeholder environments
- Contributing to the design and delivery of scalable data platforms
- Collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
To be considered, you must have:
- Commercial Data Engineering experience
- At least 2 years’ recent, hands-on Databricks experience
- A current Databricks Associate or Professional certification
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Experience working with modern data architectures
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Be currently based in Christchurch
- Hold valid New Zealand working rights
- Experience with Databricks Asset Bundles, Microsoft Fabric, Terraform or Bicep
