Summary

Data engineer at Exquance in Helsinki building the data foundation for its ModelTree real-estate analysis platform: ETL/ELT pipelines, data models for properties/leases/loans, and data quality automation to enable AI features. Core stack: SQL, Python, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), with LLM and vector-database work a plus.

Want to build the data foundation for AI in real estate?

Exquance is growing fast, and we’re looking for a data engineer to build the data infrastructure behind our platform as we develop AI into our products and expand internationally.

About Exquance

Exquance builds its own software for real estate analysis and reporting. We combine software, real estate consulting and data management to help investors and valuers make better decisions. Our clients include some of the largest real estate investors and valuation firms, such as Urban Partners, OP, NIAM and Castellum. We are now preparing for our next phase of international expansion.

The role

As a Data Engineer, you’ll join our core team and build and develop the data flows around ModelTree, our proprietary platform: from client data integration and data modelling to automated pipelines in production. You’ll work closely with analysts, developers and product specialists, and you’ll be in direct contact with clients.

Our main focus right now is bringing AI into our products and services. You’ll build the data foundation that this work depends on, in an industry where much of the data is still messy, manual and spread across systems. Your day-to-day may include:

  • Building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines that bring client data into ModelTree
  • Designing data models for properties, leases, cash flows and loans
  • Automating data quality checks and validation
  • Preparing and structuring data for AI and machine learning use cases, such as extracting data from lease agreements, AI-assisted analysis or reporting
  • Working with clients’ technical teams on integrations

Who you are

  • You have experience in data engineering: SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
  • You’re meticulous and solution-oriented, and you take ownership of data quality
  • You’re interested in AI and want to work on how it’s applied in practice, not just experiment with it
  • You’re curious about real estate and finance. We’ll teach you the domain
  • You’re fluent in English. Finnish and Swedish are an advantage

Nice to have

  • Experience with LLMs, vector databases or document extraction
  • Understanding of financial data or real estate
  • Shape our AI work early: You’ll help decide how we build our AI capabilities, not just maintain what we’re already there.
  • Real data, real complexity: You’ll work directly with large and complex datasets from international clients and partners.
  • Room to grow: In a fast-growing company, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility, for example toward data architecture or leading our data and AI work.
  • A central office at Pohjoisesplanadi 19, in the heart of Helsinki.
