Builds and maintains the technical foundations for data governance at a large Danish financial data provider, focusing on data quality, transparency, and lineage across member banks.
You will join our
Enterprise Data Management - Data Governance team
. The team is responsible for establishing and operationalizing Data Governance across BEC to ensure that data is managed as a trusted, compliant, and valuable asset. Working closely with BEC domains and member banks, we establish the frameworks, processes, and capabilities that enable high-quality, transparent, and well-governed data across the financial ecosystem.
The
Data Engineer
role offers a unique opportunity to shape how data is understood, governed, and managed across one of the largest financial data ecosystems in Denmark. By improving transparency of data assets, data flows, metadata, lineage, and Critical Data Elements, you will help establish the technical foundations that support BEC's transition towards a modern target data architecture.
At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, while also offering the flexibility to work remotely
up to 8 days per month

Primary task and responsibilities include:
- Implement and maintain data quality measurements and controls for critical data assets.
- Configure and enhance Data Governance tooling to support BEC's target data architecture and operating model.
- Establish transparency of data assets, metadata, lineage, authoritative sources, and Critical Data Elements across BEC platforms.
- Develop reporting and dashboards that provide BEC and member banks with visibility into data management and governance capabilities, adoption, and progress.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Engineers, Product Teams, and Data Stewards to implement technical capabilities that improve data quality, transparency, and trust.
To succeed you will have:
- Experience working with data engineering, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, or related data management disciplines.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex data landscapes spanning business processes, applications, and data platforms.
- Experience with SQL and data analysis, combined with an interest in Data Governance and Data Architecture.Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
- A curious and proactive mindset with a desire to improve transparency, trust, and usability of data.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience leveraging M365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and technical delivery.
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience implementing data quality measurements, controls, or monitoring solutions.
- Experience with metadata management, data lineage, Critical Data Elements, or authoritative source identification.
- Experience developing dashboards or reporting solutions that create transparency of data, data quality, or governance capabilities.
