Role summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer (Database / ETL Practitioner) to lead the design and implementation of complex data engineering solutions for one of our enterprise clients. In this role you will set technical standards, mentor junior team members, and take ownership of critical data infrastructure. You'll bring deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud data platforms, and advanced ETL/ELT patterns to architect scalable data warehouses and data lakes, troubleshoot intricate performance issues, and drive technical excellence across the team. This is a role with real influence — you'll shape architectural decisions, contribute to data governance, and help define the organization's long-term data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and construction of large-scale data architectures, overseeing and mentoring junior engineers while setting technical standards across the team

  • Solve highly complex data engineering problems and troubleshoot intricate performance issues, ensuring critical data infrastructure remains scalable, secure, resilient, and efficient

  • Liaise with senior leadership to align data strategy with organizational needs, guiding technical teams and influencing architectural decisions

  • Lead high-impact projects that significantly shape the organization's data infrastructure and contribute to data governance initiatives

  • Design and implement advanced data processing frameworks, scalable data warehouses, and data lakes for enterprise-level systems

  • Act as an expert across multiple programming languages and Big Data technologies, applying deep knowledge of distributed systems and ETL/ELT best practices

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Extensive, proven experience leading the design, implementation, and construction of complex data engineering solutions and large-scale data architectures

  • Track record of leading high-impact projects that shape enterprise-level data infrastructure, including developing long-term data architecture strategy

  • Demonstrated contribution to data governance and to ensuring the resilience and security of critical data infrastructure

  • Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages and Big Data technologies

  • Deep expertise in distributed data systems, cloud data platforms, and advanced ETL/ELT patterns

  • Proven ability to architect scalable data warehouses and data lakes, and to troubleshoot complex system performance issues

  • Strong hands-on AWS expertise

  • Strong database (DB) expertise

Nice-to-have:

  • Scrum Master experience or certification
