Real projects. Complex data. Meaningful impact.

Not every Data Engineering role gives you the opportunity to work on technology where security, reliability and performance genuinely matter.

This one does.

We're partnering with a specialist technology consultancy that has recently secured a new project supporting the UK Ministry of Defence.

They're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help design, build and optimise the data infrastructure behind critical Defence operations.

You’ll be working within a secure, predominantly on-premises environment, solving complex data challenges and helping deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support operational decision-making.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing and implementing robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and integrate complex datasets.

  • Developing data engineering solutions using Databricks, Snowflake, Python and SQL.

  • Building and managing data models, structures and storage solutions.

  • Implementing data quality controls, validation processes and governance standards.

  • Optimising data workflows for performance, reliability and efficiency.

  • Collaborating with engineers, architects and MOD stakeholders to deliver secure, production-ready solutions.

  • What are we looking for?

We're keen to speak with experienced Data Engineers who understand the challenges of delivering technology within Defence environments.

    The essentials:

  • Previous experience delivering projects within Defence or the MOD.

  • Current SC or DV security clearance.

  • Strong hands-on experience developing ETL pipelines and data integration solutions.

  • Experience with Databricks and Snowflake.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Solid understanding of data modelling, data governance and data quality.

  • Experience working in secure, on-premises or controlled environments.

Exposure to PySpark, Apache Airflow, AWS or Azure would be advantageous.

What's on offer?

  • Opportunity to join a newly secured MOD project.

  • Technically challenging work within Defence and National Security.

  • The chance to influence engineering standards and technical delivery.

  • Hybrid working – 3 days per week in Blandford.

  • 37.5-hour working week with flexitime.

  • Matched pension, healthcare and ongoing professional development.

  • A collaborative environment that combines specialist consultancy expertise with the stability of a larger organisation.
