About the role
The Data Engineer (Back-end / Software Development) is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend systems, databases, and data pipelines to support the company's software applications and business operations. The role involves managing data integration, developing backend services, ensuring data accuracy and security, and collaborating with the IT team to improve system performance and reliability.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, APIs, and software components.
Build, manage, and optimize databases using PostgreSQL or other relational database management systems.
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and automated data pipelines.
Perform data modeling, database optimization, and query performance tuning.
Integrate data from various internal systems and external sources.
Support backend development, system integration, and application deployment.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and proper access control.
Identify and troubleshoot software bugs, database issues, and data processing errors.
Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and other departments to understand technical requirements.
Maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, API specifications, and system workflows.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software/Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Fresh graduates and applicants with 2-4 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge of SQL and database design, preferably PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development.
Basic knowledge of backend programming and API development.
Understanding of database management, data modeling, and system integration.
Familiarity with Git and version control.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
