Role Overview

We’re looking for a GCP Data Engineer / ETL Engineer to build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines in Google Cloud. The role focuses on transforming data from multiple sources into reliable datasets used for reporting, analytics and business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and deploy data models and transformations in Google Cloud, mainly in BigQuery.
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for processing raw and semi-structured data.
  • Transform, enrich and optimize data to make it suitable for reporting, analytics and end-user consumption.
  • Work with Data Vault modelling principles and support scalable data warehouse structures.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, files, APIs and cloud services.
  • Monitor data pipelines, identify failures or performance issues and implement improvements.
  • Optimize SQL queries and data processing logic for performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Manage code and deployment processes using tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible and Google Secret Manager.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with SQL development and optimization, ideally in BigQuery.
  • Strong experience in building, testing and deploying ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and data processing services.
  • Experience with Data Vault modelling or similar data warehouse modelling approaches.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Composer/Airflow, Cloud Run and Pub/Sub.
  • Good working knowledge of Python and Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and Git.
  • Understanding of DataOps practices, data quality, monitoring and production-ready data solutions.
