Data Engineer, ETL Pipelines for AI/ML (Remote, Full-time) — Micro1 via AI Gig Scout

micro1 is hiring a full-time, remote Data Engineer with strong analytical thinking and experience building scalable data pipelines, doing exploratory data analysis and working with structured and unstructured data, to turn raw information into reliable, high-quality datasets for research, analytics and AI/ML model development. The national pay range is a base salary of $100,000–$150,000 USD, plus equity eligibility, possible performance bonuses, and benefits including up to 100% reimbursement of health-insurance premiums, paid time off and a 401(k) with company match.

You will design, develop and maintain scalable ETL pipelines; collect, clean, transform and organize data; run exploratory analysis to find trends, anomalies and data-quality issues; prepare datasets with researchers, data scientists and engineers for AI and ML initiatives; develop data models, database schemas and storage solutions; write and optimize SQL; ensure data quality, integrity and security across pipelines and databases; automate validation, reporting and recurring processing; document pipelines; and troubleshoot pipeline failures.

Requirements: strong Python and SQL; hands-on experience designing and maintaining ETL pipelines; exploratory data analysis; Pandas and NumPy; relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL; a strong understanding of data modeling, schemas and transformation; experience with structured and unstructured datasets; and familiarity with Jupyter Notebook, VS Code or PyCharm. Nice to have: exposure to AI/ML workflows, scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers, the OpenAI API or similar, and preparing datasets for AI/ML model development.
