An experienced Data Platform professional is required to join an enterprise data initiative, focusing on the optimisation, governance, and administration of a modern Databricks environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Optimise and monitor Databricks SQL Warehouses to maximise query performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across enterprise workloads
  • Administer Databricks workspaces, supporting users, projects, and operational data activities
  • Manage role based access control (RBAC) and security permissions to ensure robust, compliant data access
  • Build, test, document, and deploy transformation pipelines utilising dbt
  • Leverage modern AI tooling to accelerate delivery, automate platform tasks, and improve overall workflow productivity
  • Apply enterprise platform governance standards and operational best practices
  • Support continuous improvement, documentation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration


Essential Requirements

  • Proven track record within Data Platform Engineering or specialised Data Engineering roles
  • Deep technical expertise in Databricks administration, workspace management, and SQL Warehouse optimisation
  • Strong practical experience using dbt for scalable data transformation and testing
  • Solid background in platform security, governance, and role based access control (RBAC)
  • Hands on experience utilising AI assisted development and automation tools to enhance workflows
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with diverse project stakeholders


Desirable Skills

  • Data modelling experience for both operational and analytical use cases
  • Hands on experience with Lakehouse Federation for distributed querying
  • Familiarity with Lakeflow Connect for advanced data ingestion and integration
