Data Engineer
Summary
Design and build scalable cloud data pipelines and AI-ready architectures using Azure services to turn raw data into reliable, analytics-ready datasets for ML and decision-making.
For a client operating at the intersection of data, CRM and AI-driven insights, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help design and build modern, scalable data platforms in the cloud. In this role, you will play a key part in turning complex data into reliable, high-quality datasets that support analytics, automation and machine-learning use cases. You will work on challenging data engineering problems, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to solutions that directly support data-driven decision-making.
What you will do
- Design, build and maintain robust data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms
- Develop AI-ready data architectures that support analytics and machine-learning workloads
- Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality, performance and security
- Implement and optimize solutions using modern Azure data services
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, developers and business stakeholders
- Translate business and user requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and best practices within the team
Your background
HBO / WO degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or a related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or data platform development
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
Hands-on experience with the Azure data stack, for example:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Synapse or similar
Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT processes and scalable data architectures
Experience with CI/CD, version control and automated deployments for data solutions
Familiarity with Airflow or similar orchestration tools
Experience with machine-learning integration or AI use cases is a strong plus
