Your new role
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing ETL/ELT solutions and modern Lakehouse architectures
- Building and maintaining data solutions using the Microsoft BI Stack, including SSIS, SSAS, Report Builder, Microsoft Fabric, and legacy BI platforms
- Developing data processing solutions using Python and PySpark
- Writing and optimising advanced SQL and T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models
- Delivering scalable solutions across Azure Data and Analytics services
- Developing tabular and semantic models to support enterprise reporting
- Creating and supporting Power BI datasets, reports, and DAX measures
- Implementing CI/CD practices through Azure DevOps
- Supporting hybrid Azure environments spanning both cloud and on-premises platforms
- Performing performance tuning, optimisation, and troubleshooting of data systems
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
What you'll need to succeed
You will demonstrate experience with:
- Microsoft BI technologies including SSIS, SSAS, Report Builder, Microsoft Fabric, and legacy BI platforms
- Python and PySpark development
- Advanced SQL/T-SQL programming and database optimisation
- Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT methodologies, and Lakehouse architectures
- Azure Data Platform and Analytics services
- Tabular modelling and semantic data models
- Power BI development, including DAX
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD implementation
- Hybrid cloud and on-premises data environments
- Performance tuning and optimisation of large-scale data solutions
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and requirements gathering skills
- Databricks
- Power Apps and the broader Power Platform
- PowerShell scripting
- Oracle data integration experience
- Azure, Power BI, or Microsoft Fabric certifications
