About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to collaborate with Munich Re on delivering data solutions for a Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, a leading provider of specialty insurance solutions. Within Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, data-driven decision-making and AI are key priorities to support Underwriting and Claims Excellence.

How you will get the job done

• executing projects to provide actionable data assets
• preparing structured and unstructured data for analysis and BI reporting
• working with data from multiple sources, at various levels of complexity and granularity to deliver high-quality data
• developing dashboards using Power BI that enable data-driven decision-making
• leveraging GenAI for information extraction, data harmonization and quality assurance
• being part of a global community of Data Analytics and AI experts, shaping the future of the insurance Industry

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in English is a must
• bachelor’s degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Math or equivalent combination of education and experience
• +1-3 years of experience with data modeling, data intake, and data-curation procedures
• experience in the insurance industry
• expert SQL skills including experience with Databricks Unity Catalog
• +2 years of hands‑on Python experience
• experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
• experience integrating GenAI into data/analytics workflows: RAG, vector databases/embeddings, semantic search, or document ingestion pipelines
• drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands‑on attitude
• strong oral and written communication in English and good interpersonal skills
• excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
