Summary
Intermediate Data Engineer at Inde Technology, an employee-owned NZ IT consultancy, building cloud data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines on Microsoft Fabric and Databricks for enterprise clients. Daily work spans data modelling, metadata-driven ingestion, and client-facing solution delivery using Python, SQL, and Azure DevOps CI/CD.
Welcome to Inde, New Zealand’s leading employee-owned IT consultancy. Big enough to work with the country’s largest customers, yet agile enough to make things happen without bureaucracy. Your effort doesn’t enrich distant investors - it rewards you.
Technically led and outcome focused, our technical experts – that’s you – lead the way for our customers, while the rest of us help you make it happen. The whole company exists to help you help our customers succeed.
To support an exciting new phase of growth for Inde’s Data Intelligence and Architecture team, we're looking for an Intermediate Data Engineer to work alongside a team of technical specialists and transform some of New Zealand’s largest enterprises through innovative data solutions.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions
Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients
Take on challenging projects that push you to learn and grow. Continuous learning is part of our culture: we invest time and resources in training, certifications, and personal development every week.
Work in a supportive, cross-functional team environment where knowledge-sharing, coaching and collective problem-solving are the norm. You’ll both draw on your team’s knowledge and contribute to upskilling others.
Enjoy flexibility in how you work. We support hybrid working (mix of home and office) and occasional customer site visits, so you can deliver your best work in the environment that suits you.
What You’ll Bring
Competence in data engineering and/or BI development
Experience designing and implementing advanced solutions using modern cloud data engineering stacks, such as Microsoft Fabric or Databricks
Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis

Microsoft certifications (DP-203, DP-600, DP-700, DP-750) valued
Experience with multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) beneficial
Your capability will also include:
Strong interpersonal skills and experience building client relationships (professional services experience preferred)
A problem-solving mindset and innovative approach
