Job Description
We are seeking experienced Database Engineers to support a cloud-focused database engineering team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong PostgreSQL and AWS experience who enjoy solving complex performance, reliability, and scalability challenges across production database environments.
In this role, you will support and optimize production database platforms while partnering closely with application, infrastructure, networking, security, and platform engineering teams. The engineer will help improve database performance, tune queries, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable, scalable cloud-native database solutions. Experience with Terraform, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a strong plus for helping automate and modernize database operations.

Skills and Requirements
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, ideally with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
- Experience supporting and owning production database platforms
- Strong database performance tuning experience, including query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting bottlenecks
- Hands-on experience with AWS or cloud-native database environments
- Ability to partner with application, infrastructure, security, and platform engineering teams - Experience advising application teams on database architecture, schema design, data modeling, and application performance optimization
- Experience with Amazon DynamoDB or other NoSQL database platforms
- Terraform, DevOps, CI/CD, or scripting experience
- Oracle DBA experience, if needed for one of the two openings
