Designs and maintains cloud-based data pipelines and warehouses for a logistics client, using Snowflake, Dagster, dbt, and Oracle migration, to deliver trusted data for analytics.

Data Engineer

Our client is one of the world’s leading logistics companies undergoing a major digital transformation. The project focuses on building modern Data Products on a cloud-based stack using Snowflake, Dagster, and dbt, as well as migrating existing Oracle-based data solutions. The role includes designing and maintaining data pipelines, implementing transformations, ensuring data quality, and delivering trusted data to BI layers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Data Products on a modern cloud stack (Snowflake, Dagster, dbt)
  • Support migration of legacy Oracle-based data solutions to cloud architecture
  • Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Implement and manage data orchestration workflows (Dagster)
  • Design and evolve data warehouse and data mart models
  • Perform data transformation and ensure data quality and consistency
  • Validate transformed data against business rules and operational KPIs
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data structures
  • Support CI/CD processes for data pipelines and deployments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data platform performance

Requirements
Data Warehousing
  • Strong SQL skills (complex analytical queries, DDL/DML, performance tuning)
  • Snowflake — intermediate to advanced level
  • Oracle — ability to read and understand existing schemas and business logic (required for migration tasks)
Data Modeling
  • Experience designing and implementing data models (dimensional modeling, Data Marts, etc.)
  • Understanding of layered data architecture (staging, integration, presentation layers)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data structures
Data Analysis & Validation
  • Experience with data profiling and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate data anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies
  • Ability to validate transformed data against business rules and KPIs
Programming
  • Python — production-level code development
Orchestration & Transformation
  • Dagster — workflow orchestration
  • dbt-core + dbt-snowflake — data transformation
Cloud & Infrastructure
  • Basic AWS knowledge
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Flyway (database migration versioning)
Additional Tools
  • GitLab (version control)
  • Basic CLI usage
  • AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)

Nice to Have
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (Tableau, SAP BI) and their interaction with data warehouses
  • Jenkins experience
