IronMerge is currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer for an immediate start 6-month contract opportunity based at our clients West Perth offices. This is a great opportunity for an experienced data analyst to step into a fast-paced mining and resources environment and have a big impact immediately.

About the role
Working in a corporate office environment, you will play a key role in supporting our Tier One client' business improvement efforts in the various departments, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders across the business.

Duties:

• Collect, analyse and interpret financial, HR, safety and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
• Develop reports, dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI, Microsoft Excel and other business intelligence tools
• Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements and translate them into clear analytical models and insights
• Support productivity, project and strategic planning initiatives by providing data-driven insights to guide decision-making
• Analyse financial and non-financial business performance data and present findings clearly to support business reviews and strategic decisions

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in data analysis, financial modelling, business intelligence or a similar analytical role
• Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst or similar, ideally working on data analytics projects within the Microsoft stack
• Advanced Power BI and Databricks skills, with strong experience developing dashboards, reports and data models
• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex datasets and provide insights that influence business decisions or strategy
• Experience preparing and presenting analytical reports to stakeholders, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
