Summary
Data Engineer joining the data team of a leading financial institution in Antwerp (via Koda Tech), building a greenfield internal data platform from scratch. Day to day: ETL/ELT pipelines, data models, and AI-driven solutions including RAG, embeddings, and vector search. Core stack: Python, SQL, Airflow, Elasticsearch/vector databases.
We're supporting a leading financial institution based in Antwerp that is making significant investments in Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence. As part of a major growth initiative, they're expanding their data team and looking for talented Data Engineers who want to work on modern data platforms, AI-driven solutions, and cutting-edge information retrieval technologies.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing team and help build a highly scalable internal data platform from the ground up.

What you'll be doing
- Designing and developing scalable data products and modern data pipelines
- Building data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and AI applications
- Working with RAG architectures, embeddings, vector search, and information retrieval technologies
- Developing AI-powered solutions and automation capabilities
- Creating robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data models
- Implementing data quality and validation processes
- Collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
- Contributing to the evolution of a strategic enterprise-wide data platform
What we're looking for
- 4+ years' experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Commercial experience with AI technologies
- Experience working with APIs and multiple data sources
- Strong understanding of data modelling and data architecture
Highly desirable
- Experience with Vector Search, Embeddings, RAG, or Information Retrieval solutions
- Elasticsearch or Vector Database experience
- Apache Airflow or workflow orchestration tools
