About the role

- Develop and manage data solutions using SQL, Python (PySpark) and modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, version control and automated deployments.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise data workloads to ensure reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement data quality, governance and privacy controls, including automated testing, reconciliations, access management and documentation.
- Create and maintain trusted data products, semantic models, dashboards and reports that support business decision-making and AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements, deliver data-driven solutions, and promote data and AI capability across LDK.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Practical experience in data engineering or a related technical field, or tertiary qualifications in a STEM or technology discipline. Professional certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate are highly regarded.
- Proven experience building, maintaining and troubleshooting data pipelines in cloud-based environments, with strong data quality and governance practices.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong programming capability, ideally with Python and PySpark, along with experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks.
- Experience developing data models, integrating data from multiple sources and APIs, and applying software engineering practices such as version control, CI/CD and automated deployments.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical thinking, engineering judgment and attention to data quality, combined with a curiosity for emerging data and AI technologies and alignment with LDK's values of Love, Decency and Kindness.
