Hybrid working — typically 1–2 days per week in the office

Are you an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys leading people while staying close to the technology?

We’re looking for a DWH Data Engineering to join a leading financial services organisation in the Netherlands. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands‑on technical work with coaching, development and people leadership — while helping shape a newly developing chapter.

The role

As Chapter Lead, you’ll split your time between working as a specialist within a multidisciplinary DevOps team and leading a chapter of data professionals.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Coaching and supporting team members in their personal and professional development
  • Driving performance, growth and career development
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and performance processes
  • Building a healthy, inclusive and high‑performing culture
  • Helping shape the chapter’s vision, standards and way of working
  • Encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration across the wider data community
  • Working closely with IT leadership and other Chapter Leads
  • Staying hands‑on and contributing your expertise within a DevOps environment
  • Keeping up to date with developments in data engineering and sharing knowledge with the team

For this particular chapter, we're looking for experience with:

You should also have a solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and Kimball methodology.

What we’re looking for

You don't necessarily need to be an established people manager. We’re particularly interested in someone who:

  • Has a strong technical or functional background in data engineering
  • Has experience working in a DevOps environment
  • Enjoys coaching, mentoring and developing others
  • Has strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Is proactive and focused on continuous improvement
  • Wants to take the next step into leadership
  • Is comfortable giving and receiving honest, constructive feedback
  • Experience within financial services, mortgages or another regulated environment is a plus, as is experience with Agile/Scrum.

This is an opportunity to have a genuine impact — both technically and on the development of the people around you — while helping build a new chapter from the ground up.
