Data Engineer
Summary
Data engineer on one of the Lufthansa Group's largest Data Warehouse systems: analyzing business requirements, building ETL/data import-export processes, developing new functionalities, and optimizing pipelines covering customers, tickets, journeys and flight schedules. Core stack is SQL (T-SQL/PL/SQL), ETL, Databricks/PySpark, Big Data and cloud, in small Agile teams in Gdańsk.
About the project You will join a team working on one of the largest Data Warehouse systems in the Lufthansa Group. Our platform collects and processes data about customers, tickets, journeys, B2B agreements, loyalty programs, and flight schedules. We work in Agile methodologies in small teams (3–4 people), with a strong focus on collaboration and growth.This is a great opportunity to work in an international data environment and develop your skills in SQL, ETL, Big Data, and Cloud (Databricks, PySpark). Who are you? At least 2 years of experience in databases and ETL. Strong SQL knowledge (procedural database languages such as T-SQL, PL/SQL). Experience with Databricks. Experience with version control tools. Good command of English and Polish (B2/C1). Analytical mindset and team spirit. Good communication skills. Readiness to work from the office in Gdańsk min. 2 days a week What do we welcome? Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems. Experience with Teradata. Basics of Python (NumPy, Pandas). Building proof-of-concepts in cooperation with business teams. Planning and estimating tasks. Developing and implementing new functionalities. Optimizing existing processes and analyzing exceptional cases. Creating and maintaining data import/export processes. Preparing documentation and continuously learning business aspects.
