Data Engineer Mid (m/f/d)

Summary

The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics models using SAP technologies and Databricks. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize ETL/ELT processes and ensure data governance within the pharmaceutical and supply chain sectors.

As a Data Engineer , you will design, develop, and optimize data integration and analytics solutions across our BI landscape, ensuring reliable data flows and enabling informed, data-driven decisions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and models using SAP technologies (SAP Datasphere/Business Data Cloud, SAP Core Data Services) and Databricks
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Analysts, and Business SMEs to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Optimize ETL/ELT processes for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance across SAP and integrated systems.
  • Evaluate emerging tools and technologies to enhance data architecture and automation.
  • Provide technical expertise during platform transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Maintain clear documentation and promote best practices in data engineering.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in (SAP) data engineering, data modeling, or analytics.
  • Experience in SAP data analytics technologies (BDC, Datasphere) and/or Databricks
  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL/ELT design, and integration technologies (APIs, OData, CDS Views).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata, and data security.
  • Skilled in data modeling (star schema, snowflake, dimensional models).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; fluent in English (German is a plus).
