Who We Need

We invite you to join our dynamic hospital team as Data Engineer. In this role, you will support the development, maintenance and enhancement of data pipelines, data models and business intelligence solutions that enable reliable reporting, operational insights and data-driven decision-making across the hospital.

You will work closely with business users, data analysts, IT teams and other stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, prepare and transform data, and build scalable datasets and dashboards using Power BI and the Microsoft data platform.

You will support the implementation of data engineering practices, including data extraction, transformation, loading, documentation, validation and quality checks, while helping to improve the accessibility, consistency and reliability of information used for management and operational reporting. You will also work to train users to use the data platform, raising awareness and capabilities to use the data products created.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Develops, maintain and enhance data pipelines, datasets and data models to support hospital reporting, analytics and business intelligence needs, including Microsoft Fabric-based data workflows where applicable.

  • Use relevant data tools (e.g. Power Query, notebooks) to prepare, transform and visualise data for management, operational and project reporting.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, understand data definitions and translate business needs into practical data products and dashboard solutions.

  • Supports data extraction, cleaning, transformation and integration from internal clinical, administrative and operational systems, databases and other data sources, ensuring outputs are accurate and fit for use.

  • Conducts data validation, reconciliation and quality checks to support confidence in dashboards, reports and analytics deliverables. Monitor scheduled data jobs, investigate failures or data quality exceptions, and support timely resolution.

  • Assists in designing and documenting data structures, data flows, business rules and reporting logic to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge transfer, including data lineage, data dictionaries and governance documentation. Train users and manage change management to ensure success of efforts.

  • Collaborates with IT and business teams to improve data accessibility and reporting automation. Support secure workspace access, appropriate handling of healthcare data and alignment with data governance requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual reporting processes and enhance decision-making through reliable, reusable and well-governed data products

How to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Analytics or a related S.T.E.M. field.

  • Healthcare sector experience highly desired.

  • 1 to 3 years’ relevant experience in data engineering, business intelligence, analytics reporting or a related data role.

  • Hands‑on experience with Power BI is highly preferred, including data modelling, Power Query, DAX, report development and dashboard maintenance.

  • Exposure to Microsoft data technologies such as Microsoft Fabric OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Data Factory, notebooks, Delta tables, Medallion architecture or Direct Lake will be highly regarded.

  • Good working knowledge of SQL, data transformation, data validation and basic data warehousing concepts, with Python or PySpark experience considered a strong advantage.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot data issues independently.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
