Data Engineer with strong ETL development experience required to join a large-scale data engineering project on a long-term contract. The role is based in the West Midlands, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring 2 days per week in the office, offering competitive contract rate.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Talend ETL jobs, data virtualisation views and Oracle database artefacts.
- Support data extraction, integration and transformation activities using established development frameworks.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines and support automated testing and deployment processes.
- Investigate and resolve defects identified during development and testing.
- Conduct component testing, support QA and performance testing, and assist with production releases and post-release support.
- Review technical deliverables and provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Talend and ETL development.
- Experience with Denodo and data virtualisation.
- Practical experience with Oracle databases, SQL and DDL.
- Experience working with AWS.
- Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, testing and production support.
- Experience with Pentaho or Informatica would also be considered.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an Agile development environment.
- Must be able to attend the office 2 days per week within the West Midlands.
