Summary

Data engineer at a global data and AI consultancy, building ELT pipelines and transformation layers for household-name clients using dbt, Snowflake and Databricks. A client-facing hybrid role (2-3 days from home) based in Milton Keynes or London, paying £35,000-£45,000 plus benefits.

A global data and AI consultancy where you’ll use the modern data stack for household-name clients, and build the kind of breadth that’s hard to get in-house.

Why this one’s different

  • Serious platform credentials. They’re an Elite-tier Snowflake partner across EMEA, with three decades in data and analytics behind them. You’ll be learning from people who know the stack properly.
  • Not locked into one tool. They’re technology agnostic and pick the right platform for each client. That’s exactly why they want engineers who are comfortable across dbt, Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Proper variety. Pharma, retail, automotive, financial services, travel. Each client brings different data problems, and your CV grows fast.
  • Close to where data is heading. They’ve built their own AI platform and are already working on agentic data engineering, so you won’t be maintaining yesterday’s tech.
  • Global backing, UK team. 2,500+ people worldwide, with a UK practice across Milton Keynes and London.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building and maintaining data pipelines and transformation layers for client projects using dbt, Snowflake and Databricks
  • Developing ELT processes that turn raw data into clean, trusted, usable models
  • Supporting data modelling and architecture design alongside senior engineers and architects
  • Working directly with client stakeholders to understand what they need and explain technical decisions in plain English
  • Writing clean, tested and well-documented code
  • Contributing across multiple projects and sharing what you learn with the wider practice

What you’ll bring

  • 1 to 3 years’ commercial experience in data engineering
  • Hands-on experience with at least two of dbt, Snowflake and Databricks
  • Solid SQL and a good grasp of data modelling (star schemas, dimensional modelling)
  • Strong communication skills. This is a client-facing consultancy role, so you’ll need to be as comfortable in a stakeholder meeting as you are in a code review
  • Curiosity and a real appetite to learn new platforms and industries

What’s on offer

  • £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
  • Hybrid working, with two to three days a week from home
  • Household-name clients across a wide range of sectors
  • Learning alongside specialists across the modern data stack
