Data Engineer- £125k+ (Azure/Snowflake)
We are working with a highly regarded financial services organisation looking to hire an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing data function. This role sits within a collaborative technology team responsible for delivering scalable data solutions, business intelligence and workflow automation that support key business functions across the organisation.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone with a strong background in Azure data technologies, data engineering and reporting. You\'ll be responsible for developing robust data pipelines, building insightful dashboards and ensuring high-quality, reliable data is available to stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will have significant commercial experience working with both Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Snowflake, as these technologies form the core of the organisation\'s data platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
- Develop and optimise data models and transformation processes within Snowflake.
- Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports, translating business requirements into meaningful visualisations.
- Write efficient and complex SQL queries to support reporting, analytics and data integration.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Develop and support automated workflows using Microsoft Power Platform technologies where appropriate.
- Monitor and improve data quality, validation processes and data integrity across multiple data sources.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements.
- Contribute to best practices around data engineering, governance and documentation.
- Support ongoing enhancement of the organisation\'s cloud-based data platform.
Required Experience
- Proven experience working as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, BI Developer or similar.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), including building and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Demonstrable commercial experience using Snowflake to develop, optimise and manage cloud-based data solutions.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, stored procedures and data transformations.
- Strong Power BI experience, including DAX, Power Query and data modelling.
- Experience working within Microsoft Azure.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Python scripting for data engineering or automation.
- Power Automate or wider Microsoft Power Platform experience.
- Experience working with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow or Workday.
- Previous experience within financial services, banking, asset management or another regulated environment.
- Exposure to AI-enabled analytics or modern data platforms would be advantageous.
