Data Engineer (Python/GCP) - French Speaker

Summary
Senior (6+ yrs) data engineer to build and maintain data pipelines, lakes/warehouses, and ML data prep on Google Cloud (BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, Spark) for an investment banking and financial services client's tech hub. Hybrid role based in Lisbon, requiring fluent French and English.
This project is part of the business investment banking and financial services area, that currently has its technological hub in Portugal and is working on the development of innovative solutions and support for all operations related to the business.
We are looking for a Data Engineer (Python/GCP) - French Speaker to work in this project in Lisbon (Hybrid).
Technical Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field;
- More than 6 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer;
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and schema design, such as: star/snowflake schemas, and normalization;
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, or data warehouses;
- Proficiency with Python (design patterns, testing, packaging, performance considerations);
- Knowledge of AI prediction models, including data preparation for machine learning, feature stores, and MLOps principles;
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow/Beam, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Airflow), and SQL;
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools, such as: Airflow/Cloud Composer; CI/CD for data pipelines, and Git for version control;
- Familiarity with testing practices: UAT, QA testing, test planning, data validations, and test automation;
- Experience with Spark/Databricks, Control-M or other enterprise scheduling tools;
- Knowledge of BI/Analytics tools, and data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA);
- Fluent in French and English.
Nice to have:
- Certification or strong working knowledge of GCP;
- Experience deploying and monitoring AI prediction models in production using GCP-native tools;
- Experience with streaming data (Kafka, Pub/Sub) and real-time analytics;
- Knowledge of data visualization and BI tools, such as: Looker, Tableau, Power BI;
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, telecom) and related data governance.
