Onsite Data Engineer in Coquitlam who builds, tests, and maintains ELT pipelines from varied sources into SQL Server using Python, SSIS, and T-SQL. Designs data models, optimizes warehouse queries, validates data quality, and supports infrastructure with Git, Terraform, and CI/CD.
Build complex data pipelines with Python and SQL Server while working onsite five days weekly alongside operational teams. Maintain extremely accurate reporting solutions and data systems.
As a Data Engineer, you will develop, test, deploy, and maintain ELT pipelines from varied sources into SQL Server databases. You will design scalable data models, optimize warehouse queries, and support data infrastructure with Git and Terraform. The work includes data validation, CI/CD integration, documentation, and code reviews. You will also contribute to technical designs and stakeholder discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ELT pipelines using Python and SQL Server Integration Services
- Design data models and optimize the data warehouse
- Validate data quality, integrity, and completeness through monitoring
- Integrate CI/CD tools for pipeline deployment and monitoring
- Review code and provide feedback on development practices
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
- Two years developing software, data, or cloud engineering solutions
- Two years working on data engineering projects and ETL tools
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, preferably Microsoft T-SQL
- Azure or Microsoft on-premises experience preferred, not required
