Position Overview
As a Data Engineer within our AI and Analytics team, you will play a critical, hands on role in establishing and optimizing the data infrastructure that powers our most ambitious data-driven and machine learning initiatives.
You will be instrumental in defining how we manage, model, and move data across the platform, ensuring the data is high-quality, scalable, and readily accessible for advanced analytics and AI model development. This is a highly collaborative position where you will work closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and key business stakeholders.
How you will contribute
- Define data structures, mappings and flows to enable performant data processing and analysis.
- Research and evaluate data technologies and tools to support our business goals, including hands on technical evaluation and PoCs.
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Develop and implement data integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.
- Design and implement data storage solutions, including caching, partitioning, and indexing to improve performance.
- Produce and contribute to high-quality documentation.
Desired Experience
- 3+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, data warehousing, or a highly related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in the Financial Services, FinTech, and Risk Management industry is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience developing robust data pipelines and streaming flows for cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficiency in Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala) for developing high-performance, distributed big data processing jobs.
- Experience with modern data storage and analytics solutions (e.g., Snowflake, DataBricks).
- Experience with streaming data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Neo4J, etc).
- Strong proficiency in at least one core programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) and expert knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Looker, PowerBI) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and make sound technical decisions.
- Experience implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
- Experience supporting machine learning use cases and data preparation for MLOps is advantageous.
