About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer with 2 to 3 years of experience to join our growing team in Pune. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers to build, optimise, and maintain data pipelines, write efficient SQL queries, and utilise AWS cloud services to enable data processing and analytics across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Write, optimise, and debug SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Work with core AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift) to process and orchestrate datasets.
  • Perform routine data monitoring, quality checks, and troubleshooting to maintain data integrity and workflow performance.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and senior engineers to deliver data solutions.
  • Document workflows, dataset schemas, and data engineering best practices.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of hands-on professional experience in data engineering or ETL development.
  • Strong proficiency in writing and tuning SQL queries across relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
  • Hands-on experience with core AWS cloud tools, specifically S3, Glue, and basic exposure to Redshift or Lambda.
  • Practical working knowledge of Python for data processing and ETL scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication and technical collaboration skills.


Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with big data processing tools like Spark or PySpark.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling.
  • Exposure to version control systems (Git) and basic CI/CD or DevOps practices.
