Data Engineer
Summary
Senior Data Engineer builds and maintains ETL pipelines, data lakes, and cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, using Databricks and Azure Data Factory with Python or similar.
Salary: £90,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements:- Senior-level data engineering experience
- Expert SQL knowledge
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong experience with Databricks
- Experience building ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory or similar tools
- Hands-on experience working across both Azure and AWS
- Programming knowledge using Python, Java, C# or a similar language
- Strong understanding of data architecture, data lakes and pipeline development
- Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with financial systems or FP&A teams would be advantageous
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines
- Build data architecture that brings together multiple business systems
- Develop and support a Microsoft-based enterprise data lake
- Design and maintain MS SQL databases and related data systems
- Build ETL and data transformation solutions using Databricks and Azure Data Factory
- Develop cloud-based data solutions across Azure and AWS
- Ensure the quality, integrity and reliability of complex datasets
- Work closely with FP&A, technology teams and senior business stakeholders
- Collaborate with developers, infrastructure engineers and reporting specialists
- Troubleshoot complex data and pipeline issues
- Work four days per week based in our Newcastle office, with one day working from home
