Contract Data Engineer in Abu Dhabi building banking data marts, stored procedures, and customer 360 data models for analytics, ML, and AI use cases, while supporting a migration from Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Redshift. Requires strong SQL, Python, and mandatory banking domain experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop data marts, stored procedures, and scheduled data transformation workflows.
- Design data models and customer 360 views to support analytics, ML, and AI use cases.
- Build reusable data products using banking datasets.
- Support the planned transition from the existing Microsoft database environment to Amazon Redshift.
- Some resources should also have strong Data Architecture or advanced Data Modelling capabilities.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on SQL development, including complex queries and stored procedures.
- Experience in data mart development, data warehousing, and data modelling.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar databases.
- Amazon Redshift knowledge is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Claude is an advantage.
Mandatory Banking Domain Experience
- Retail Banking: Accounts, deposits, loans, cards, transactions, and customer data.
- SME / Business Banking: SME lending, credit facilities, and business customer data.
- Corporate Banking: Corporate lending, credit limits, risk exposure, letters of credit, and trade finance.
Expected Resource Split
- Approximately 3 Data Engineers with Retail Banking experience.
- Approximately 2-3 Data Engineers with SME / Corporate Banking experience.
- They should have additional Data Architecture and advanced Data Modelling capabilities.
- Banking domain experience is mandatory.
- Candidates must have hands‑on experience working with banking data, not just general data engineering experience.
