We're looking for a passionate Data Engineer to help shape and deliver the trusted data foundations that support reporting, analytics, and AI across the business.

As a Data Engineer, you'll design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and reusable data assets that enable business insights and AI innovation. Working within our Data Platform Engineering team, you'll leverage technologies including Azure Data Factory, Snowflake and dbt to deliver reliable, production-grade data solutions.

This is an opportunity to work in a team embracing modern, AI-native ways of working, where tools such as Claude Code and other AI-assisted engineering technologies are part of daily development. You'll play a key role in ensuring data is high quality, well-governed, and ready to support emerging AI capabilities including Snowflake Cortex and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.

• Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and data products across Azure Data Factory, Snowflake and dbt.
• Developing reusable, well-documented data assets that support analytics, reporting and AI use cases.
• Ensuring data quality, lineage, governance and security standards are maintained.
• Working collaboratively with Data Governance, AI Enablement teams and business stakeholders.
• Applying CI/CD and source control best practices across the data platform.
• Identifying opportunities to automate and optimise data processes.
• Contributing to the evolution of SkyCity's AI and data engineering capability
• 3+ years' experience delivering data engineering solutions within cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, or comparable cloud data technologies.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data modelling approaches such as Kimball, Data Vault or Medallion Architecture.
• Experience using dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, Git, GitHub or Azure Repos.
• Understanding of data governance, lineage, privacy and data quality principles.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership from design through to production support.
• Enthusiasm for leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve speed, quality and innovation.
