The Opportunity As Strata Financial continues to grow through acquisition, this role will play a key part in bringing together data from multiple businesses and systems into a unified, scalable platform. The infrastructure you build will form the foundation for business intelligence, strategic decision-making and the AI-driven analytics capabilities we are developing. Working alongside our Manager and Data Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact while growing your career in a rapidly evolving data team. What You'll Actually Do Data Integration & Pipelines Build and maintain pipelines that extract data from newly acquired companies' systems (practice management tools, CRMs, accounting platforms) into a central data warehouse. Write scripts to clean, standardise and validate data as each new source comes online. Help automate manual, repetitive data-handling tasks currently done by hand. Building the Foundation Contribute to a data architecture that can scale as we acquire more companies. Document data sources, schemas and transformation logic so the team can maintain and build on your work. Monitor pipeline health, catch data quality issues early, and flag anything that looks off. People & Collaboration Work daily with our Data Analyst to make sure the data feeding dashboards and reports is accurate and complete. Partner with the wider team during acquisition integrations to understand and map new data sources. Be mentored directly by your manager as you grow from entry-level into a more senior data engineering role. Team You'll work alongside our Data Analyst as one of the first two dedicated data hires at Strata Financial. Because the team is small, you'll have direct, regular contact with leadership and real visibility into how data decisions get made - including during live acquisition integrations, not just in theory. What You'll Bring Essential A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent hands-on experience (personal projects, coursework, bootcamps). Working knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language, ideally Python. A basic understanding of how data pipelines, databases and ETL processes work. Strong attention to detail and comfort getting hands-on with messy, real-world data. Eagerness to learn and to take ownership of problems without needing constant direction. Nice to have Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) or tools like dbt or Airflow. Familiarity with accounting or financial data, or genuine interest in the SME advisory space. Internship, coursework or personal projects involving data pipelines or integration work. Interest in how data feeds into AI/ML applications, even if you haven't built one yet.
