Data engineer (tech lead)- Scoutz

Summary

Lead the end-to-end data and integration architecture for a bank’s credit platform, ensuring robust, traceable, and compliant data flows across internal and third-party systems.

Data engineer (tech lead)- Scoutz

AtScoutz, we are looking for a Data & Integration Tech Lead for our credit initiative, where the data landscape iscomplex, integrations arenumerous, and the requirements for correctness, traceability, and compliance are extremely high. Credit is fundamental to running a bank, and our ambition is to create an efficient, digital, and compliant credit process that gives customers fast financial insights and equips advisors with the right tools. That requiresgood data andan excellentdata understanding.

This role is integration-first, with a strong data responsibility. Your most important contribution is ensuring an end-to-end understanding of how data moves across internal systems and external platforms via APIs and integrations: where it originates, how it is transformed, and how we ensure it can be used safely and correctly–bothnow and in the future.

This is a role for someone who thinks beyond individual teams and sees data as a critical part of the overall credit process. It is a key position within the credit domain, where you help ensure that data does not become a bottleneck – but an asset that can support growth, regulation, and change.

Primary tasks and responsibilities

As Data & Integration Tech Lead, you hold the technical and operational overview of data flows across the credit solutions–andhow those flows are enabled through integrations and APIs. This is not a classicdeveloperrole, but it requires strong technical understanding and the ability to set direction, challenge designs, and ensure that integrations and data pipelines are robust, traceable, and wellmonitoredin production.

You are not the “data owner”,but you are the one who ensures that:

  • the integration and data architecture is coherent and consistent end-to-end
  • API and data requirements are clear, aligned, and documented across systems
  • data and integration issues areidentified, prioritized, and handled in a structured way
  • critical data flows are observable and compliant with governance, security, and regulatory requirements

Your key responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end overview of integrations and data flows across the credit landscape (internal systems and third-party platforms)
  • Set direction for integration patterns and ensure API contracts and data requirements are defined early and documented clearly
  • Ensure data lineage, traceability, and integration documentation across systems
  • Ensure monitoring and observability of critical integrations and data flows in production
  • Drive resolution of integration and data flow issues together with teams and vendors
  • Ensure alignment across integration architecture, processes, and ways of working
  • Ensure scalability, security, and compliance across integrations, APIs, and data solutions
  • Work closely with teams and relevant data roles to ensure direction and progress
To succeed, you will:
  • Think holistically and long term
  • Understand how changes in one system impact the overall credit process
  • Look beyond “data within the team” and focus on data across solutions and the organization
  • Be curious and comfortable independently investigating how data flows across systems and organisations, using available documentation, APIs, logs, configuration, data models, and implementation details to verify understanding rather than relying blindly on existing descriptions
  • Be proactive and help the organization stay one step ahead
Your competencies and experience:
  • Deep understanding of data modelling, metadata, data integration, and end-to-end data flows
  • Solid experience with data governance and regulatory requirements (e.g.GDPR, BCBS 239, or similar)
  • Experience working with complex system integrations in enterprise contexts, including third-party platforms
  • The ability to work in a structured and strategic way at the intersection of technology and business
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to bridge multiple roles andorganisations
  • Technical understanding and preferably experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), data platforms, integration patterns (e.g.event streaming), and observability/monitoring
Nice tohave:
  • Hands-on technical confidence to read Salesforce Apex/Java code and Salesforce Flows when needed to understand how dataactually movesthrough the solution
