Data Engineer
Summary
A SQL-heavy data engineering role: build and own ETL processes and data models for analytics and financial reporting using Python, AWS, Snowflake, Fivetran and dbt, and build reports in Sigma and Looker. Based in Ukraine with mandatory hybrid work (3 days) from the Kyiv or Dnipro offices.
About the role
Our team is looking for a Data Engineer. You will build and own the ETL processes and data models behind analytics and financial reporting, keeping reporting reliable and accurate as data needs grow.
The focus is on streamlining the data and reporting layers rather than building full-stack apps or backends. The work is SQL-heavy, with deep domain involvement and close collaboration with Finance, Product and BI stakeholders.
• Move and transform data day to day with SQL, Snowflake, Python, AWS, Fivetran and dbt
• Build reports in Sigma
• Support the existing Looker dashboards and build new ones as needed
• Work closely with stakeholders in Finance, Product and BI
• Apply strong engineering practices to the data space: operational maturity, SDLC requirements, automation, testing and ETL performance
• Solid grounding in data warehouse design
• Familiarity with the team’s stack: Python, AWS, dbt and Fivetran
• Experience building reports and dashboards in BI tools (Sigma, Looker)
• Comfortable working deep in a business domain and partnering with Finance, Product and BI
• Brings engineering discipline to data work: testing, automation, SDLC and pipeline performance
Nice to have
• Snowflake experience
• Financial or accounting data experience, especially modelling transactions, payments, contract logic and tax calculations
