DATA ENGINEER

Open 25d

Summary

Designs and maintains data pipelines for real-time sensor data from marine automation systems like Dynamic Positioning and mooring winches, ensuring reliability and safety-critical analytics.

Role Overview

· Tiancheng Electrical MarineEquipment is seeking a specialized Data Engineer to build the datainfrastructure required for our advanced marine systems, including DynamicPositioning (DP) systems and Automated Mooring Winch arrays.

· You will be responsible for theend-to-end lifecycle of high-frequency sensor and operational data, ensuringthat real-time performance metrics from marine equipment are effectivelycaptured, processed, and analyzed.

· Your work will directlycontribute to the reliability and efficiency of our marine automation andvessel control technologies.

Technical Responsibilities

· DP & Winch SystemIntegration: Develop data pipelines to ingest real-time telemetry data (e.g.,tension, torque, thruster feedback, positioning data) from PLC/SCADA systemsused in DP and mooring operations.

· Operational Data Engineering:Architect storage solutions for time-series data to facilitate advancedanalytics, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring of critical mooringand propulsion hardware.

· System Interoperability: Buildrobust API interfaces between vessel-side control systems and centralizedshoreside monitoring platforms to enable remote vessel diagnostics.

· Data Quality for Marine Safety:Implement rigorous validation frameworks for sensor-derived data to ensureaccuracy in mission-critical applications such as station-keeping and tensioncontrol.

· Analytical Dashboards &Reporting: Partner with marine engineers to design automated reports on winchperformance, DP operational logs, and equipment duty cycles.

· Advanced Automation: Utilizemachine learning or signal processing techniques to identify performance trendsor failure patterns in electro-hydraulic winch systems.

· Infrastructure & Cloud Ops:Maintain high-availability data infrastructure capable of handling largevolumes of streaming sensor data from multi-vessel fleets.

Required Technical Skills

· Core Languages: Proficiency inPython and SQL (specifically for time-series databases).

· Time-Series Data: Experiencewith databases suited for sensor data (e.g., InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, orIoT-specific data stores).

· Connectivity & Protocols:Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA,MQTT) commonly used in marine automation.

· Data Processing: Experiencewith stream processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Kafka, Flink) to handlehigh-frequency sensor streams.

· Data Warehousing: Knowledge ofcloud-based warehousing (e.g., AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Snowflake).

· DevOps & Security:Implementation of secure data transmission and deployment practices inalignment with maritime cyber-security standards.

Professional Qualifications

· Education: Degree in ComputerScience, Data Engineering, or Electrical/Marine Engineering with a strong focuson data/software.

· Experience: 3+ years in DataEngineering, ideally with exposure to industrial IoT, OT (OperationalTechnology), or marine engineering systems.

· Domain Knowledge: Priorexperience or deep interest in marine equipment, DP systems, or offshore deckmachinery.

· Soft Skills: Strongcross-departmental collaboration skills, with the ability to communicatetechnical data requirements to marine and electrical engineers.
