Data Engineer
Summary
Data Engineer developing and optimizing an organization's data and BI platform on Microsoft Fabric: building lakehouses, data warehouses, semantic models, and automated ETL/ELT pipelines, plus Power BI reports and dashboards using SQL, Python, and Power Automate. On-site in Belgium; fluency in Dutch required.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's data and business intelligence platform. You will help build a scalable, reliable, and future-proof data environment using Microsoft Fabric, ensuring data is accessible, consistent, secure, and efficient for reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data solutions, including lakehouses, data warehouses, semantic models, and automated data pipelines.
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT processes.
- Build and maintain SQL solutions for data transformation and integration.
- Develop automation solutions using Python and Power Automate.
- Create and maintain Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards for management and business departments.
- Monitor and improve data quality, performance, and consistency across data solutions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement improvements to existing data processes.
- Support the development of reliable data insights that enable informed business decisions.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience developing ETL/ELT processes.
- Familiarity with Python and Power Automate for data processing and automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in data architecture and scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in Dutch.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
