Data Engineer
Summary
Designs and builds scalable data models, pipelines, and warehouse governance for analytics, using SQL, cloud platforms, and tools like ClickHouse, Kafka, and Airflow.
- Architect and implement core data platform components from the ground up or evolve existing systems as needed.
- Design and implement high-performance, reusable, and scalable data models for our data warehouse / BI.
- Continuously discover, transform, test, deploy, and document data sources and data models.
- Build and develop robust data solutions, including data pipelines and services.
- Apply, help define, and champion data warehouse governance, including data quality, testing, documentation, coding best practices, and peer reviews.
- Take the initiative to improve and optimize analytics engineering workflows and platforms.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including application developers and data analysts, to understand business requirements and deliver tailored data solutions.
- Proficiency with Bash and strong command of SQL.
- Strong proficiency in Python for building production-grade data pipelines and services.
- Deep expertise in data engineering concepts, practices, and tools
- Expertise in development tools and techniques, including git, IDEs, and CI/CD processes.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS(preferred), GCP or Azure.
- Strong experience modeling data warehouses for analytics and BI workloads.
- Hands-on experience with ClickHouse as a production-grade data warehouse for analytics, including modeling, performance tuning, and operations
- Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and K8s for orchestration.
