Data Engineering Developer
Summary
Builds and maintains scalable data pipelines in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory) to solve complex data challenges for clients, while mentoring teams and setting engineering standards.
You enjoy diving into complex problems, understanding the story behind the data and designing solutions that scale? You’ll work across diverse domains and with modern technology stacks, while contributing to the growth of data engineering best practices.
Your key responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines within the Microsoft ecosystem (Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Functions);
- Working directly with clients: understanding their needs, proposing the right technical solutions, and ensuring smooth project follow-ups;
- Documenting technical and functional architectures, transformations, and processes in a clear and reusable manner;
- Participating in the establishment of engineering standards: code quality, data quality, CI/CD, security, and performance;
- Collaborating closely with fellow engineers to deliver stable, optimized, and scalable data solutions;
- Providing technical guidance to colleagues and sharing best practices in data engineering and architecture;
- Implementing data extraction processes by interacting with various APIs to integrate external data;
- Overseeing deployments, operational costs, and performance of solutions in cloud environments;
- Designing and implementing data governance and quality strategies, including metadata management, security, privacy, and cataloging;
- Staying up to date with cloud platforms, modern analytical architectures, and data governance trends.
The ideal candidate
- Over 5 years of experience in a similar role; experience in consulting or multi-client environments is an asset;
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL;
- Experience with Spark and modern analytical architectures (ELT, medallion, star schema);
- Experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Functions, Storage, Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory);
- Excellent communication skills in French and English;
- Rigour, curiosity, and attention to detail, you thrive in environments where code and deliverable quality are fundamental values;
- Strong results orientation and a developed sense of client service;
- Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or dbt (an asset);
- Microsoft certifications (Azure, Fabric, Power BI) (an asset).
