Data Engineering Lead (Ab Initio), Vice President

As a Senior Data Engineer in Citi’s Oracle Ledger Data Engineering team, you design and optimize high‑performance ETL solutions using Ab Initio to ensure accurate financial data feeding the Oracle General Ledger. You’ll collaborate with business users and cross‑functional partners to translate complex requirements into robust data pipelines, while driving SDLC activities in an Agile setup. You will innovate through automated utilities and own issue resolution to improve system efficiency and data integrity. This role offers impact at scale within a global bank and the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in ledger processing.

• Design, develop, and optimize complex ETL applications using Ab Initio (GDE, Control Centre, Metadata Hub)
• Collaborate with business users, financial analysts, and tech teams to gather requirements and estimate effort
• Lead SDLC activities within Agile, including documentation, testing, and UAT/production support
• Analyze complex data issues with SQL/RDBMS to ensure data integrity in the Oracle ledger
• Innovate by designing automated utilities to improve performance and efficiency
• Own technical issues by monitoring processes and managing defects in Jira

• Extensive experience building ETL solutions in a Banking/Financial Tech environment
• Hands-on Ab Initio toolkit expertise (GDE, Control Centre, Metadata Hub)
• Deep Oracle RDBMS knowledge with advanced SQL
• Strong UNIX and shell scripting skills
• Full SDLC and Agile experience with Jira
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities
• Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred
